Wounded Cries- Woes in a few words

Wounded Cries

They are dating! He is proposing her!
She is the princess of his heart,
And I’m left with my broken dreams,
My story ends, before it could start.

He is mean, yet I can’t forget him,
For once, I loved him beyond a crush,
With his pretty dimples and blue eyes,
Even with my brain saying, “Don’t rush!”

Great was that day I found his love,
My heart dancing, a dream-come-true.
Describing it in short, I had said,
“It’s all worth living for you.”

We were together, a perfect-match,
Hand in hand, fingers interlocked,
Dreaming future, relishing present,
Together we ate, loved and sobbed.

Now, his true love has changed,
He says, “You’re not much for a look.”
Being after the pretty brunette,
He’ll get her, by hook or by crook.

Ripping me apart is this pain,
I may cry even at the fall of a hat.
He’s not here, even to listen,
The wounded cries I shed.

If love is enjoying in being hurt,
I’m happy, I had my love.
That’s what keeps me living,
Memories that I held above.
