The worst thing about words is we cannot swallow them back. Few words, yet they shall make or break lives.
One learning which will forever be inscribed
in my Life Diary is, Never take people for granted.
I had just stepped in my junior college when I met an amazing boy. A flirt at first sight, soft-spoken,
courageous and an equally smart student of my class. No wonders why anyone can’t be impressed by this boy. We became friends and
eventually best friends. Having
a true friend who gets into
the roles
of a guide, a critic, a supporter, a healer, and
a listener is very fortunate. We shared our thoughts, weird ideas, and
memorable incidents and dreamed together. He was my best friend, yet the first one of my critics.
People say there’s a
test for every friendship. For ours, it came at a later stage.
Three years of friendship and
there was hardly an argument .
But when
one started, there was a chain
of disagreements, disapprovals such
that neither of us was willing to give up. We couldn’t keep a check on our frustration. There was no measure of
the violent words we exchanged. Though we never meant it, the words hurted
a lot.

Guilty.... |
Just when
I thought of arriving at a
compromise, he went on
a Shirdi trip.
A small trip of 3 days, as I
thought, one shall bring
a new horizon to our friendship.
What I didn’t expect was, he would never be back. What I didn’t expect was an accident, a brain-dead friend and me, his best friend
lost at words.
I lost my friend forever.
Every day I carry a bag of guilt, sometimes more of it. A lots of “WHYs” but I have learnt the bitter truth-Never take anyone for granted. You might not even get a chance to rectify it.
Thumbs up. Now do follow your words.
